Advent Day 13 | 2024 | The Song of Heaven and Earth
Welcome to Advent—a season of fierce grace and unyielding joy. Stop. Breathe it in. The King has come, triumphing over the grave and reigning on high. Together, let’s follow the trail of His glory, stepping into the story of the Child who broke the back of darkness and carried the weary to freedom. May these devotions be a lantern for your path and a spark for your wonder.
The night was ordinary, cloaked in darkness and silence, as shepherds kept watch over their sheep. Then suddenly, the heavens exploded with light and sound. The veil between the natural and the supernatural was drawn back, and a host of angels filled the sky, declaring, “Glory to God in the highest!” It wasn’t a quiet hymn or a subdued whisper—it was a thunderous anthem, a declaration that shook the earth.
This is Advent – the moment when heaven and earth collided, when the glory of God broke into the mundane. The angels’ song wasn’t just for the shepherds. It was for the world. It announced the arrival of the King who brings peace—real peace, not the fragile kind brokered by nations or dependent on circumstances, but the eternal peace between God and man, forged through the blood of His Son.
Christ’s birth was the display of God’s glory, the fulfilment of His promises, and the beginning of His victory. The angels sang of His majesty, and all creation joined the chorus. And that song hasn’t stopped. The heavens still declare His glory, and His people are called to echo it. “Glory to God in the highest!” is not just a phrase—it’s the anthem of eternity.
Advent reminds us to lift our eyes and join the song. The King has come. His glory fills the earth, and His peace reigns forever.
