A Call to Communion

Come to the table of Christ, a table of life and death.

Come now, you sinners, and sit at the table of death. Come and die to your hostile flesh, that viperous part of your sinful being to die in the death of Christ. As we partake in this sacred bread and cup, we boldly declare the potency of His sacrifice, His body broken and His blood shed for us. In this solemn act, we crucify our sin and shame, acknowledging that through His death, we are brought to life.

Come now, you sinners, and sit at the table of life. Come and embrace the new life in the resurrection of Christ. Your chains are shattered, and you are set free. As we partake, we magnify the splendor of His resurrection, rejoicing in His victory over death and His bestowal of eternal life. In this act of communion, we taste the liberty and joy He has secured for us.

Let us come with hearts brimming with gratitude and reverence, confessing our need for His abundant grace and celebrating the new life He grants. Let this table be a powerful reminder of His sacrifice and a foretaste of the heavenly feast we will share with Him.

To Him who loves us and has freed us from our sins by His blood, who has made us a kingdom and priests to this God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever.

Amen.
