Advent Day 10 | 2024 | The Shepherd’s Pursuit
Welcome to Advent—a season of fierce grace and unyielding joy. Stop. Breathe it in. The King has come, triumphing over the grave and reigning on high. Together, let’s follow the trail of His glory, stepping into the story of the Child who broke the back of darkness and carried the weary to freedom. May these devotions be a lantern for your path and a spark for your wonder.
Advent is not a story of humanity inching its way toward God—it is a story about God racing headlong into the darkness to find us. You didn’t stumble into salvation by chance. You didn’t turn around one day and discover Christ waiting patiently behind you. No, He came after you. Relentlessly. Unstoppably. The Shepherd doesn’t wait for the sheep to wander back; He goes into the wilderness, calling their name until His voice breaks through the fear and confusion.
The Child in the manger didn’t come for the proud or the self-sufficient. He came for the lost, the broken, the ones too weak to find their way back. His cry split the night in Bethlehem, not as a whisper but as a declaration: “I have come to seek and save.”
Every day, the Shepherd calls to His sheep, guiding them home. He doesn’t abandon. He doesn’t forget. Even when you wander, even when you can’t hear His voice, He’s still pursuing, still running through the shadows to bring you back.
Advent is a season of being found, of hearing the voice of the Shepherd and feeling the weight of His love. And when He finds you, all of heaven rejoices.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, thank You for being the Shepherd who seeks and saves the lost. Thank You for finding me in my brokenness and carrying me back to safety. Help me to hear Your voice and follow You wherever You lead. Amen.
Action Point
Take a moment to reflect on the ways Christ has pursued you. Write them down as a reminder of His relentless love, and share your story with someone who needs to hear it.
