Advent Day 6 | 2024 | The Light Breaks Through
Welcome to Advent—a season of fierce grace and unyielding joy. Stop. Breathe it in. The King has come, triumphing over the grave and reigning on high. Together, let’s follow the trail of His glory, stepping into the story of the Child who broke the back of darkness and carried the weary to freedom. May these devotions be a lantern for your path and a spark for your wonder.
Darkness doesn’t just hide—it fights. It creeps, it whispers, it smothers. The world has always been dark. Wars rage, hearts shatter, shadows stalk us in our sleepless nights. It feels like the darkness wins, like it’s unstoppable. But Advent tells a different story.
The light came. Not flickering or fragile, but fierce. Christ didn’t enter the world like a candle struggling against the wind. He came as the unstoppable sunrise, flooding the horizon with light. He stepped into the darkest corners of humanity—our sin, our pain, our death—and pierced it all.
The darkness has no choice but to flee. It trembles at His presence, scatters at His name. Christ is the light that no shadow can overcome. Advent reminds us that no matter how deep the night feels, the dawn is here. And His light isn’t just out there—it’s in you. The King who defeated darkness lives in you. So shine.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for being the light that darkness cannot overcome. Let Your light shine in my life today, driving out every shadow. Help me to walk in Your truth and reflect Your glory. Amen.
Action Point
Step out in the morning and see the sunrise. So shall the countenance of the Lord rise upon you. Step out in the night and look at the stars. Let them all remind you of Christ’s light breaking through the darkness of this world—and into your life.
