Advent Day 24 | 2024 | A Celebration of Worship
Welcome to Advent—a season of fierce grace and unyielding joy. Stop. Breathe it in. The King has come, triumphing over the grave and reigning on high. Together, let’s follow the trail of His glory, stepping into the story of the Child who broke the back of darkness and carried the weary to freedom. May these devotions be a lantern for your path and a spark for your wonder.
Christmas is not a season of indulgence, it is a season of worship. It’s not all about the lights or the food or the gifts—though we’ve all tangled our joy in those traditions. It’s not a cultural holiday, it’s a religious one. At the heart of Christmas is the truth that the King has come, and the only proper response is to fall down in worship.
The wise men didn’t cross deserts and follow a star to celebrate a vague feeling of holiday cheer. They came to worship. The shepherds left their flocks to bow before the newborn King. The angels filled the skies with song, not to announce a winter festival, but to glorify the God who stepped into His creation. Christmas has always been about worship—adoring the One who deserves everything we are and everything we have.
Advent is a call to realign our hearts. The tinsel and carols are hollow if they don’t lead us to Christ. The King born in Bethlehem didn’t come to create a cultural phenomenon. He came to bring the glory of heaven to earth. Christmas isn’t for nostalgia—it’s for kneeling. It’s for singing, praying, and declaring with our lives that the Savior has come, and He is worthy.
Prayer
Lord Jesus, forgive me for the ways I’ve made Christmas about anything less than You. Teach me to worship You with all my heart this season and beyond. May my celebrations declare Your glory and lead others to bow before You as King. Amen.
Action Point
Pause in the midst of your Christmas preparations today to reflect on Christ. Gather your family or friends to sing a hymn, read Scripture, or pray, refocusing your heart on worshiping Him.
